Newsletter June 2020
|
Welcome to CIPFA’s Police key account newsletter.
In only a few short weeks the world has become a very different
place for all of us, both personally and professionally. Many of you
will be adjusting to working from home and the new challenges which
accompany this. To help our AFEP members combat the crisis, we have
pulled together a comprehensive list of COVID-19
key resources which I hope you will find useful.
As plans for the ease of lock-down over the coming weeks and
months are explored, we will update you regarding the September 23rd
and 24th planned AFEP CFO Retreat.
I can confirm that the CIPFA
Public Finance Live 2020 conference at the QEII centre
in Westminster has been changed to 21st and 22nd October and don’t
forget, AFEP members qualify for a discount, please email Nicole.Burrell@cipfa.org for the
discount code.

The challenges to the police sector from the Coronavirus
pandemic have been varied, immediate and sometimes unexpected. As
the restrictions ease gradually there may be further challenges
ahead for policing, both operationally and financially, as we count
the cost of responding to the virus. However, this difficult time
has also driven innovation in how we all work, some of which will
define how we operate in future.
CIPFA is no exception to this, with all of our panel meetings,
sub-group meetings and network events being held virtually and with
further virtual events in the pipeline. CIPFA is here to support
police finance professionals with guidance, advice and support
during this difficult time. If you have any ideas of how CIPFA
could help you, please let us know.
Police and Fire
network events dates are listed on my network page. The Introduction to Police Budgeting is on
25th June and my latest Horizon Scan
briefing paper is also accessible from my network
page - MyCIPFA login is necessary to view this and all historical
Horizon Scan documents. Please contact me if you have any
police network queries.
