Northern Ireland

Welcome to CIPFA Northern Ireland

The Northern Ireland economy is dominated by its public sector whether services are provided by central government departments; their various arms-length bodies; or by our local councils. Most people in Northern Ireland either work in or with public bodies. This emphasises the need for public spending to provide value for money and comply with spending regulations and within public expectations. CIPFA in Northern Ireland continues to be an important part of the public sector infrastructure whether it is training specialist accountants; advising and helping to shape policy; or providing support services such as training, development and advisory services. Many of our members are chief executives; senior civil servants; directors of finance and board members in Northern Ireland’s public services.

If CIPFA can help develop you professionally or help your organisation to improve its financial management, governance or performance, please contact one of the members of the Northern Ireland Branch Committee. We will be pleased to link you to one of CIPFA’s professional team. We run a number of professional development events each year and our annual conference is a major events for all those concerned with improving the lives of our citizens by providing better public services. I look forward to seeing you at one of our events during the course of the year.
