Changing Children's Lives: assessing cost and demand for children's services

There is no doubting the dedication and commitment of those working in children’s services, but the challenges from rising demand and ever-tightening budgets means that teams must work together to improve outcomes. 

In a survey of CFOs carried out by CIPFA in summer 2017, children’s social care came out as the area of greatest concern, a position previously held by adult social care. CFOs also felt it was an area where efficiencies and improved outcomes could be achieved.
