Volunteer opportunities
Find out how you can volunteer in the Midlands
Regional council
The council meets four times annually in person and online, to shape local support to members and students, to raise the profile of CIPFA regionally and to provide a link with CIPFA HQ. Members have the opportunity to become involved in events, seminars and other initiatives across the region. Nominations to council are sought ahead of the AGM, which usually takes place in March. However, there is always space for a willing volunteer and a number of roles are currently vacant. To find out more or to express an interest, please contact us: cim@cipfa.org.
Regional events
Members and students really appreciate being able to attend a range of in-person and online meetings on topical themes, together with keystone events such as the region's annual seminar. Volunteers are needed to join the regional events team to plan future seminars and events. No experience is needed, just enthusiasm! You will be expected to attend planning meetings from time to time and to help in the arranging of at least one meeting or event in the midlands during the year. For more information please contact Colin Sharpe at colin.sharpe@leicester.gov.uk.
Sixth Form management games
If you're a CIPFA member or student, please consider volunteering to help with the management games which are held across the region in June and July for post-16 students. You will have an enjoyable and rewarding time and add to your professional skills, too! We are looking for support from members – general, student and retired, all welcome – to help take forward these very successful games. Please download a briefing for more information.
Engaging with university students
CIPFA nationally would like your help in engaging with students and aspiring accountants at universities across the regions. To express an interest, please follow this link to the volunteer form.
Other opportunities will be posted here as they arise. However, if you have particular skills to offer, or are in need of volunteers, please let us know!
