Responding to COVID-19: insight, support and guidance

Welcome to CIPFA in the Midlands region

UK map The Midlands is a fast-growing, vibrant and active region. We aim to support our members and students through a range of interesting and innovative seminars, training, mentoring, newsletters, and personal and career development.

To support our regional offering, we work with the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), audit firms and our regional networks to ensure we provide a wide and interesting range of support to our existing members and to attract non-CIPFA delegates to their events.

The pace of change in the public sector continues to intensify, and we have a great group of volunteers committed to supporting the region to keep abreast of this. Our ever-successful sixth form management games continue to attract volunteers with renewed enthusiasm and engagement!

Join CIPFA Midlands on Facebook or follow @CIPFAMidlands on Twitter to keep up to date with news, events and discussions.

And finally, a reminder for anyone who may need support. CIPFA’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub is available to you and anyone in your personal or workplace networks. The hub brings together information and support on a wide range of topics. Access is free of charge, anonymous and there’s no need to register.

Mentoring programme

CIPFA Midlands launched a new mentoring programme at their annual seminar in 2020. It’s available to all CIPFA members in the Midlands who would like to either:
  • be a mentor to give something back and pass on the benefits of their experience to others
  • have a mentor outside of their organisation who can help them explore issues and challenges that they face within their careers

Sixth Form games

In June and July, at venues across the Midlands, we provide a stimulating and fun environment for post-16 students (years 12 and 13) to sample the scope, complexity and impact of financial management in the public sector. Find out more.

Meetings, minutes and documents

Regional council agendas and action notes can be seen in our meetings and minutes page. The constitution, development plan and accounts can be found on the useful documents page.

Regional forum

A forum for CIPFA members and students in the regions to share ideas, documentation and discuss future plans.

The forum is restricted to CIPFA region members and uses the same login details as the CIPFA website. You will be asked to login if you are not already logged in to the website.

We have produced a guideline document on how to use the forum and some best practice hints and tips to help you get started.

Volunteering in your region

You could help your region to support members and students, in a variety of ways as a regional volunteer. We need the help of willing volunteers and have a broad range of opportunities for any member or student who is interested in getting involved.
