Much of the responsibility for leading on Public Health moves from PCT’s to Local Authorities from April 2013. Funding is a crucial issue – both the quantum of funding from 2013-14 onwards and funding to manage the transition. Cipfa Networks has produced two recent papers on this – one - an analysis which shows the quantum of funding for the public health funding from 2013-14 should be more than currently estimated – the other - showing the benefits of transitional funding for 2012-13 - if we are to make the most of the transfer. Both papers draw on the experience shared by over 30 practitioners at two recent workshop events in London and Manchester. We would be interested to learn of other work locally and nationally that is being undertaken to articulate the same case.
