Meet your advisors

Diana MelvilleDiana Melville, Governance Advisor, CIPFA, FCPFA

Diana is the policy lead on internal audit, audit committees and local authority governance at CIPFA and the lead advisor for the BGF. She represents CIPFA on the Internal Audit Standards Advisory Board. As well as policy and guidance, she liaises with government departments and other stakeholders, and delivers support through training, publications and briefings.

She is the author of Audit Committees: Practical Guidance for Local Authorities and Police (2022), and co-author of Internal Audit: Untapped Potential (2022).

She is a CIPFA Fellow and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Naomi is a CIPFA-qualified accountant with over 20 years working with the public sector. She has undertaken roles in both public sector finance and internal audit. Naomi has worked in both an in-house audit team as well as public sector multi client providers and has led on audits across local government, police, fire, NHS partnerships and education establishments. Naomi manages the Better Governance Forum at CIPFA and has helped to develop CIPFA's Competency Framework and the External Quality Assessment conformance toolkit.
