Fine Tuning Our Approach to the Costs of Care (9–10 November 2016)

Fifteen billion pounds of social care is commissioned each year representing about 80% of adult social care spending, small percentage movements therefore have significant financial implications for the average council. These workshops will look at detailed case studies including peer reviews of commissioning which suggest that the adoption of a set of common principles can help commissioners, providers and local authorities manage the very real pressures they face.

Savings from Integration (7–8 December 2016)

These workshops provide an opportunity to look at the scope for savings from integration, which was ranked highly in the 2016 ADASS Budget Survey. We will look at the savings models available, and take account of the actual results of trailblazers, such as vanguards. These events should also provide an opportunity to review the implications for social care of the Autumn Statement as well as early consideration of the Better Care Fund for 2017/18 and future years, its likely distribution and framework.
Introduction to NHS Finance for Local Government (January 2017 – dates to be confirmed)

A workshop setting out the key features of NHS finance which staff in local government need to know to work effectively with health. Content includes explanation of the NHS structure, funding flows, tariffs, governance and savings initiatives.
Financial Data to Support Integration (2–3 March 2017)

Workshops which look at what financial data needs to be pulled together as part of the commitment to have integration plans in place by 2017, and how best to ensure the data is available.
