The purpose of this consultation was to invite comments on the draft Addendum and to seek examples of good practice which could be included in the guidance note to Delivering Good Governance in Local Government : Framework which is currently being updated and will be published at the end of 2012.
Political leaders and chief executives have a leadership responsibility and are accountable for ensuring good governance in their authority. To assist in developing the approach to good governance CIPFA/SOLACE issued Delivering Good Governance in Local Government: Framework and accompanying guidance note in 2007.
To ensure the Framework remains 'fit for purpose' the CIPFA/SOLACE Joint Working Group reviewed it and issued a draft Addendum for consultation.
