responses to consultations archive

CIPFA responds to many consultations relating to the development and maintenance of financial reporting standards, auditing standards, and related matters. Many of these relate to consultations undertaken over a period of years.

Most standards development is carried out in accordance with due process which requires time to develop proposals, consult with stakeholders, and redraft having regard to stakeholder views. As consequence, many standard setting projects continue over several years and particularly difficult issues may take more than a decade to be resolved.
