360 Assurance has been recognised for their outstanding work in a national award scheme from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). 360 Assurance and their host organisation, Leicestershire Partnership Trust, won this year’s prestigious CIPFA Audit Award for Innovation and Excellence in Public Service Audit.
360 Assurance received the award for its excellent and innovative approach to supporting Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) at the highest level. The award was presented by CIPFA President Mike Owen to Tim Thomas, Director, Kevin Watkins, Assistant Director and Annette Tudor, Deputy Director of 360 Assurance.
Tim Crowley, Chair of CIPFA’s Audit Panel, commented:
“Once again, the judges and I were very happy with the quality of entries that we received this year. The entry from 360 Assurance stood out from the start for its excellent and innovative approach in supporting CCGs at the highest level so that new governance arrangements are clear, well-understood and fully reflect good governance principles and practices.
“The method that 360 Assurance has developed also has a high level of transferability within the NHS, but also in other areas of the public sector and we look forward to seeing their presentation at the CIPFA internal audit conference.”

Notes to editors
The award was founded by Cliff Nicholson, CIPFA President in 1990, who died in 2011. At the end of his presidential year, he established the eponymous award to encourage the development of the audit profession and recognise outstanding work in the field of audit. Cliff had a distinguished career in public services for over 40 years, most of that time in local government audit and was awarded a CBE for his contribution to the audit profession in 1986.
