
We are now inviting all CIPFA members to nominate candidates for the 21 regional seats on the CIPFA Council. Elected members are expected to maintain a proactive interest in the work of their regional branch and support good communication between Council, the region and regional membership.
About the role
Being on CIPFA’s Council provides a unique opportunity to set the strategic framework and direction for the Institute. Council is the governing body of CIPFA, and it has a wide-ranging remit that includes:
- approving standards of professional practice and statements and codes of best practice
- setting the strategic direction, approves mid-term strategy, annual business plan and budget
- approving and adopting the annual report and accounts of the Institute
- setting the risk mandate to inform the risk culture of CIPFA
- approving the terms of reference and delegated powers of its committees and boards
- making appointments, including Council co-options.
