South East

Welcome to the CIPFA South East region

About us

CIPFA South East is the largest of the CIPFA regions, with nearly 5,500 members and students. We have an active regional council, local hub groups and a student network that deliver a broad programme of regular events for our members and students.

We run free and low-cost events for members and students who live or work in the South East. Events are held across the region, both in central London and in local hubs including Essex, Cambridgeshire, Kent, Thames Valley and Wessex.

For anyone who may need support CIPFA's Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub is available to you and anyone in your personal or workplace networks. The hub brings together information and support on a wide range of topics. Access is free of charge, anonymous and there's no need to register.

President John Barker

Headshot of John BarkerIn 2004 John established his consultancy, he was invited to join CIPFA South East Regional Council in 2006. By 2013 that traditional role was enhanced by the Regional Council to include managing the delivery of the large regional events programme and developing sponsorship relations. Looking back, John believes he is an early example of the tremendous opportunities that the CIPFA qualification can offer, both working within an organisation or as a consultancy provider and is proud to have been elected as one of the first CIPFA Fellows!
