CIPFA is a founder member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), the global public and private sector standards setting body. CIPFA staff members sit on and support through technical assistance many IFAC structures including the full IFAC Board, the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board which sets International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and the standard setting Education (IEASB) and Ethics (IESBA) Boards.
CIPFA members currently also chair and technically support the IFAC Professional Accountants in Business Committee and Professional Accountancy Organisation Development Committee (formerly the Developing Nations Committee). In addition we have contributed the public sector elements to the IFAC Guide to establishing and developing a professional accountancy body.
CIPFA staff are present on the public sector and training committees of FEE, the Federation of European Accountants - Fédération des Experts-Comptables Européens (FEE) which is the representative organisation for the accountancy profession in Europe.
