Welcome to CIPFA's e-learning package designed to increase fraud awareness in your organisation. The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, brought in a new ‘Failure to Prevent Fraud’ offence so it is more critical than ever to assess fraud risk in your organisation and ensure that all employees are aware of the risks and potential impact of fraud.
Organisations in scope of the Act are required to take measures to minimise the risk of fraud, and providing training to staff is just one of the ways this can be achieved. Even if your organisation is not in scope, it makes good sense to ensure compliance. Fraud poses a significant threat to the UK public sector by diverting valuable resources away from essential services and undermining public trust. It can result in substantial financial losses, which ultimately affect taxpayers and the quality of public services provided.
