Event summary
Drawing on CIPFA’s guidance 'The excellent internal auditor, A good practice guide to Skills and Competences', this programme will provide guidance for new and existing internal auditors in the first few years of their career. It will offer attendees the opportunity to complete the skills matrix in line with this guidance to identify further areas of development which will be covered within day two. This workshop will be full of discussions about real issues and risks.
The workshop takes place over two mornings. We ask that you attend and book on to both workshops:

About this event
Who should attend?
This course would be good for anyone who has attended the CIPFA Introduction to Internal Audit course and is looking to reconcile their internal audit skillset. It would also suit Auditors starting out in their careers, as well as anyone who is looking to retrain within an IA role.

Speaker - Naomi Whitmore
Naomi is a CIPFA-qualified accountant. She joined CIPFA in 2023 after spending 18 years working in the public sector in both finance and auditing roles. She has worked in both in-house audit teams as well as public sector audit partnerships. She has experience of working across all levels of local government as well as auditing the police, fire, NHS partnerships and education establishments. Naomi delivers events to new auditors, sharing her experiences in internal audit.
