Event summary
This event will provide a thorough introduction to Property Asset Management, moving beyond the basics to look at practical issues that face the public sector in the current challenging environment. This will include consideration of the purpose of asset management plans, performance measurement, linking assets to corporate aims and objectives, maintenance prioritisation and property review. We will conclude the day touching on some of the current hot topics that are creating significant interest including discussions around offices and remote working policies, Corporate Landlord, working with partners, and community asset transfer.

Session 1:

Speaker - David Bentley, Head of Asset Management, CIPFA
David is a professionally qualified quantity surveyor with over 35 years’ experience in the public and private sectors. He has been with CIPFA since 1998 and in this time has become known as one of the leading UK experts on property and asset management within the public sector.
Speaker - Mark Poppy, BA (Hons), MBA
Mark has an MBA and is an alumni of the Ashridge Business School Advanced Leadership Programme. He has worked at a senior level in both the public and private sector as well as a government backed advisory company. He has extensive experience of public-private partnerships and the commercialisation of public services. He manages CIPFA’s property training programmes and within the team on wider property issues throughout the UK.
