Event summary
This interactive workshop will provide tips and guidance for experienced auditors around Senior Auditor competencies. This programme is in line with the requirements of the GIAS UK Public Sector and will include a section on Domain II Ethics and Professionalism as well as Domain V Performing Internal Audit Services. This workshop will be full of discussions about real issues and risks.
The webinar takes place over two half days.

Speaker - Naomi Whitmore
Naomi is a CIPFA-qualified accountant. She joined CIPFA in 2023 after spending 18 years working in the public sector in both finance and auditing roles. She has worked in both in-house audit teams as well as public sector audit partnerships. She has experience of working across all levels of local government as well as auditing the police, fire, NHS partnerships and education establishments. Naomi delivers events to new auditors, sharing her experiences in internal audit.
Speaker - Mark Catlow
Mark joined CIPFA in 2022 after working for seven years in local government. Prior to this he worked for both Ernst & Young and the Audit Commission. He is a member of CIPFA and has extensive experience of the collection fund, treasury and statutory financial reporting.
Speaker - Florence Bastos, CIPFA Public Finance Advisor
Florence is a financial advisor in CIPFA’s Policy and Technical team. She joined CIPFA in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience from her private sector, NHS, and local authority background. Florence’s expertise lies in strategic financial management, which she leverages to improve organisational performance. She also provides financial and commercial insights that facilitate sound investment and contracting decisions in the public sector. Florence qualified as a Chartered Accountant while working in the tax practice at PwC.
