Technology is a transformational force in public finance, offering improved timeliness, productivity, effectiveness, and crucially improved citizen experience. As local authorities are under increasing pressure to deliver more with less, CIPFA in collaboration with Access PaySuite are hosting an in-person discussion of the impact of technology, automation and integration, on finance processes, teams, overheads and how local government adoption of the right technology can help drive a better public service for communities. The discussion will explore benefits, challenges, and implementation strategies of technology on financial processes.

Chair -David Lyford-Tilley
David Lyford-Tilley is CIPFA’s Head of Standards and Technical. He leads CIPFA’s team in setting the accounting rules for local government via the Code of Practice, as well as other standards for local government reporting. David also leads CIPFA’s Networks team, which supports authorities with their technical compliance through communities of practice.
David is a chartered accountant and expert on the impact of technology on the accounting profession.
Chris Dunn, Finance Director, Access PaySuite
Chris joined Access PaySuite, part of The Access Group, in December 2022 as part of the Pay360 acquisition and has more than 15 years post qualified experience across different sectors. Chris has a wealth of experience in leading teams and driving change, whilst ensuring robust processes and systems are established to enable satisfaction of all customers and stakeholders.
