The Coronavirus Act has now received Royal Assent. It provides additional powers and freedoms to enable public bodies to respond most effectively to the coronavirus pandemic.
One amendment to the original Bill was to provide powers to issue regulations amending legislation on local authority meetings. This should lead to the ability of local authority bodies to hold committee meetings online, allowing decisions to be made effectively and legally.
