The CIPFA Police and Fire Panel held its annual police conference which now also includes fire and rescue authorities. In a new era for police and fire and rescue services, we considered the latest strategic and financial issues facing the services and assessing their implications. Our conference chair was Nigel Hiller, Chair of CIPFA’s Police and Fire Panel and Director of Finance for South Yorkshire Police, who introduced the aims of the event and summarised the key issues.
