The government has now published its response to its consultations on the future funding of supported housing. After three years of consultation on proposals and counter proposals, the government has now decided that it will not adopt its proposals for a Sheltered Rent model for sheltered housing or ring-fenced grant funding for short-term supported accommodation. Instead it intends to continue to provide funding for all supported accommodation through housing benefit, administered and paid by local authorities, together with a 'robust oversight regime'.
This briefing document provides further details of the government’ response.
