Who is it for?
The e-learning is intended for those with little or no specialist experience of this area, including councillors, finance staff, and new treasury staff.
Note: While the content does refer to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the course will be most relevant to those working in English Local Government.
Course content
The e-learning covers:
- what treasury management is
- the main regulatory requirements and governance
- treasury reports – what they should contain and their link to capital strategy
- role of prudential indicators and key performance indicators
- what treasury risks are and how they can be managed

This e-learning is delivered online. Detailed joining instructions will be sent to you.
How long will it take to complete?
The e-learning will take around four hours to complete. You will have access to the learning materials for three months.
