About Us

The TISonline service

TISonline (Technical Information Service online) is CIPFA’s online resource providing information streams of best practice, guidance, commentary and legislative context for financial managers across the public services.

TISonline supports managers at all levels in their everyday activities, as well as underpinning professional development for a range of disciplines and professions.

The service was launched by CIPFA in 1967 and became an established and invaluable reference source for practitioners and all those with an interest in financial management across the public services. It has been available online since 2003.

TISonline information streams cover a range of financial functions of local authorities and other public service bodies. Subscribers can opt to receive personalised instant emails to let them know when guidance has been updated.

Registering and subscribing to TISonline

To access TISonline, users must register on MyCIPFA to receive a password, which they then use with their email address to log on to the website. Registration is free and is open to all, and certain areas of the website are accessible to all registered users. However, access to the content of TISonline information streams is restricted to users from subscribing organisations.

A subscription to TISonline provides multi-user organisation wide access. This means that anyone in the subscribing organisation can use the service. Each user must register individually and use their own account.

When users log on they are granted access to the information streams according to the level of subscription held by their organisation. A subscription can cover individual information streams or the full TISonline service. To find out which information streams are included in your organisation’s subscription, go to MyCIPFA.

The subscription year runs from 1 April to 31 March. For current subscription rates and to order information streams fill in the order form or contact E: customerservices@cipfa.org.
