On 2 September 2022, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities provided a progress update for councils on the delivery of the council tax rebate scheme and a reminder of the scheme closing dates and options available for making rebate payments to households.
The department will be conducting a wider, more detailed assessment in due course to establish the breadth of reasonable new burdens costs incurred in delivering the scheme, including the Discretionary Fund.
