Sport England is to invest £250m to get the most inactive people in England exercising as part of its new four-year strategy Towards an Active Nation published on 19 May.

The money will target the 28% of English people who fail to undertake moderate exercise for at least half an hour each week, particularly women, disabled people and those from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Inactivity is regarded as a major cause of Britain’s obesity crisis.
