On 29 May 2018, the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) published the Billing Authority Reports Submission Standards (2017). The guide sets out how billing authorities can assist the VOA in updating rating lists and the information they need to provide. It also contains guidance in relating to council tax reports.
In addition, the VOA published the Council Tax: Challenges and Changes, March 2018 – Background Information. This publication presents the number of challenges to the council tax valuation lists (ie band reviews, proposals and appeals) that were received, resolved and outstanding during the period from 1 April 2017 – 31 March 2018. The statistics also present the outcomes of the resolved challenges.
