The Welsh Government has published its Council Tax Collection Rates for 2019/20.
We are asked to note that the information on amounts collected, arrears and amounts written off are for April 2019 to March 2020. The report does not cover the period of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In 2019/20, Welsh billing authorities collected 97.0% of council tax billed, a decrease of 0.3%. Five authorities recorded a year-on-year increase in their collection rate in 2019/20 and 17 recorded a decrease.
