The Valuation Tribunal for England (VTE) has published an updated Consolidated Practice Statement (CPS) for 2020, which replaces previous versions to reflect changes in practice and procedure.
The President of the VTE is required to make sure arrangements are in place and make such statements and Directions so as to ensure that business before the Tribunal is conducted in accordance with The Local Government Finance Act 1988, Schedule 11, Part 1, paragraph A17(1) and The Valuation Tribunal for England (Council Tax and Rating Appeals) (Procedure) Regulations 2009.
The updated CPS, which is effective from 1 April 2020, may be cited as the VTE CPS 2020 and replaces all previous versions. It is not intended that this Practice Statement should cover every eventuality, but rather deal with issues that commonly require attention to allow the Tribunal to effectively transact its business.
